Who We Are
Imagine living and working in your community, yet feeling the weight of despair grow heavier with each passing day. The American Dream, once a shining symbol of hope, now feels like a distant, fading star—its light slowly dimming as you watch others seize the opportunities that were once promised to you. For nearly half of all Americans, this is not just a passing thought—it’s the harsh, unrelenting reality they face every single day.*
Home for Good Foundation is committed to unlocking the American Dream by creating pathways to quality housing for families who are too often overlooked—those who don’t qualify for government assistance but still struggle to afford to rent or buy a home in the communities where they live and contribute.
Our Strategy
Home for Good Foundation employs two key approaches for growing the community land trust: securing planned gifts of real estate and developing quality housing projects..
A gift of real estate not only creates opportunities for hardworking families, it also fosters generational wealth, strengthens local churches and supports nonprofit organizations, ensuring the impact is felt for generations to come.
Any project developed by Home for Good Foundation will be designed to complement and enhance the surrounding neighborhood, contributing to the long-term value of the community. We reject the notion that attainable housing must look different. This goal will guide every stage of the project, from the initial design process to the property management plan, with a focus on creating an economically sustainable, successful outcome.
Community Land Trust
A community land trust (CLT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to acquiring and stewarding land for the long-term benefit of the community. Since its inception in 1969, the CLT model has proven to be effective in strengthening and building resilient communities. By prioritizing people over profits, Home for Good ensures that land is protected for the purpose of housing opportunities for working individuals and families. This innovative approach makes homes more affordable and guarantees their continued affordability for generations to come.
By separating the cost of land from the cost of housing, a CLT significantly lowers the price of homeownership, enabling working families to build equity and achieve long-term stability. The ultimate goal is to create permanently affordable housing that remains insulated from the volatility of rising market prices, offering a sustainable path to rentals and homeownership.
